When you mention the Pride family name in country music, most immediately recall Stephen Pride’s big brother, the late, legendary Charley Pride. Nonetheless, Stephen for many years, has been making his own mark in the industry. With his outstanding vocal range and adept musical ability, Stephen has carved out his own niche in the world of country music. His attention to detail and precision make him unique in comparison to many of the other country music artists of today.
Country music singer, Stephen no doubt, has the ability to capture his audiences with his singing and lyrical expertise. He will keep them dancing, swaying, and toe-tapping to his shows from start to finish in his concert appearances. One would be hard-pressed to find a still person in the crowd when Stephen takes the stage. His infectious spirit pulls you in and will have you hanging on every word that comes from his mouth.
Stephen’s premier album, “Pride On the Wild Side” is a blend of country melodies that rip right into the heart of country music lovers. This recording project by no means will disappoint those expecting the Pride family tradition of soulful country vocal treats, blended well with real-life stories, great lyrics, and the busting flare of good music.
Stephen is grateful to have had the opportunity to open for and/or share the stage with some of the great country music legends of our time such as Charley Pride, Willie Nelson, Louise Mandrell, Charlie Daniels, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Ricky Van Shelton, Billy Joe Royal, Roger Miller, The Bellamy Brothers, Desert Rose Band, Johnny Rodriguez, David Ball and many more.
The tragic loss of his son Jaimeian in 2012 to heart failure, left Stephen, his lovely wife Pam, and the rest of the family heartbroken. However, this loss also helped to compel him to move forward with his life and career to write and perform songs to positively influence the lives of others. He now shares the testimony of life in the lanes of country music and the real life of a married man and father, who finds peace through the sharing of his gift. Stephen, like many of us, draws unto our Lord Jesus Christ to guide him and give him strength. Stephen knows that without Christ all of his endeavors would be in vain and finds it a blessing to know him. He continues to carve out his own path as he lives his life for God, family, friends, and country music greatness.
